Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processing and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts, payroll management, and corporate accounting. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities



Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Manage payroll processing, including data entry for new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Workday, ADP, or Paychex for payroll management and accounts reconciliation. Perform account reconciliations for both accounts payable and payroll accounts regularly. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and assist in the preparation of financial reports. Support benefits administration by processing related payroll deductions accurately. Assist with tax-related tasks and ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations. Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee records are maintained in the HRIS system. Conduct analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement. Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounting practices.

Requirements



Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian is preferred. Strong understanding of payroll management processes and general ledger reconciliation techniques. Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within a corporate or non-profit environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and analysis skills is essential. Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; 10 key typing proficiency is a plus. Knowledge of benefits administration processes and tax experience is beneficial. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines. A background in technical accounting or governmental accounting would be advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
