Position onsite at our New York City Office, eligible for remote work 1 day per week.

MSA Security, an Allied Universal\xc2\xae Company, is hiring a Accounts Payable Manager. The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Accounts Payable Department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments to vendors, and carrying out internal controls related to verifying and reconciling invoices. In addition, the AP Manager oversees employee expense reimbursements where field personnel incur business expenses initially paid by the employee. The AP Manager is also a key contributor in the month-end close process and provides supporting schedules for month end accruals. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members perform their duties effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
  • Resolve discrepancies and issues related to invoices
  • Coordinate and execute the payment process, including check runs, ACH transfers, and Wire Transfers
  • Ensure payments are made on time and in accordance with established terms
  • Be the lead liaison to the company\xe2\x80\x99s key systems support suppliers (Amex, Concur)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, business partners, and suppliers
  • Address and resolve inquiries from vendors regarding payments
  • Oversee and contribute to the processing of expense report reimbursements to field employees
  • Administer and oversee the Company\xe2\x80\x99s corporate credit card program with Amex
  • Ensure payments are made in accordance with company policies
  • Provide Supporting AP schedules at month end to determine appropriate accruals
  • Work closely with accounting personnel to manage the AP sub ledger and ensure all AP related liabilities are recorded in the general ledger
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the AP function
  • Implement best practices to streamline processes and reduce costs
  • Selection and placement of accounts payable personnel; design and implement career development and performance improvement plans
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Accounts Payable managerial experience
  • Experience with managing company corporate credit card programs, preferably AMEX
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address issues related to invoices, payments, and vendor relationships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience and / or familiarity with Concur and Netsuite
  • Experience with AP related tax compliance including sales tax charges, W-9 maintenance and 1099 processing
