Job Description


Summary of Position We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic biotech industry team. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations and financial reporting for our organization. You will take a hands-on approach to the daily operations of the finance department to ensure proper and accurate accounting which includes maintaining the general ledger, bank account reconciliation, cash management, capital assets reconciliations, expenditure variance analysis, monthly close, etc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor a small team
  • Perform the bank and credit card reconciliation and generate the report on a monthly basis.
  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and AP accrual.
  • Evaluate significant variances and proposed solutions.
  • Review fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the Chart of Accounts.
  • Perform month-end close.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • File Form 571-L and 1096/1099.
  • Prepare and file Sales tax.
  • Preparation of documentation for annual financial audits.
  • Review item and vendor master data to ensure data accuracy.
  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable.
  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Planning and participating in physical inventory count on a periodic basis.
  • Provide recommendations for improving systems and procedures.
  • Additional projects, Ad Hoc requests, and/or duties as they arise.
Qualifications Required for Position
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within an accounting or finance role \xe2\x80\x93 Life sciences and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in ERP and Accounting related software, NetSuite preferred.
  • General knowledge of US GAAP, general and cost accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills, and the ability to learn new software easily.
  • Strong analytical skills to ensure the quality and accuracy of financial information.
  • Proficient in Journal entries, Accruals, Bank reconciliations, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Strong attention to detail.
