Job Summary
Langan is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in managing the financial reporting and General Ledger accounting functions of the company. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact special accounting projects that support firm leadership and drive operational success.
Job Responsibilities

• Maintains the general ledger and promotes accounting practices in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
• Leads all accounting for revenue recognition and fixed asset accounting;
• Ensures the effective implementation of the firm's General Ledger accounting procedures; oversees the preparation of the weekly cash requirements report and other weekly accounting reports that may be developed;
• Responsible for the timely and accurate recording and reporting of project costs, revenue recognition, reconciliation of all balance sheet/select income statement accounts and ensuring the integrity of the accounting system;
• Follows up on accounting/system issues that affect accounts to ensure proper reporting of financial data, including evaluating internal controls and ensuring compliance with controls and procedures;
• Performs the monthly and annual closing process, including preparation of all management reports for review and approval by the Controller;
• Assists with the annual financial audit and tax filings;
• Manages staff accountants as well as deliverables from finance colleagues; and
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required; MA/MBA and CPA preferred;
• 5+ years of accounting experience;
• 5+ years in the Professional Services sector;
• Advanced Excel skills;
• Proficiency with accounting systems, Deltek Vision a plus;
• Strong management skills;
• Ability to motivate and lead others;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $110,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
