Dematic is actively looking to hire a Director of Accounting (Chief Accounting Officer - Americas), located at our North American HQ in Grand Rapids, MI. This critical position is responsible for organizing and directing the work of the end-to-end accounting department for the Americas region (US, Mexico and Canada). The position is responsible for the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the Accounting Services area including Credit, A/R and A/P, tax and cash forecasting, along with implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that ensure company assets are safeguarded and all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with financial policies and IFRS. This position is required to work at our North American HQ in Grand Rapids, MI. Relocation to the Grand Rapids area is required. What You Will do in This Role:

• Leadership, performance management and talent development for 4 direct reports and total team of more than 35 accounting staff.
• Manages the general ledger accounting, account reconciliation\'s, journal entries, credit control, sales tax and tax accounting functions.
• Responsible for general treasury activities for the region in collaboration with KION treasury and Global Accounting team. Activities include cash forecasting, hedge planning, hedge accounting and driving analysis and actions to improve cashflow.
• Drives programs and activities to maintain a strong control environment which protects the company\xe2\x80\x99s assets and ensures compliance with IFRS, corporate and local reporting requirements.
• Primary interface with internal and external audit.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and statutory filings (under both IFRS and US GAAP)
• Risk officer for the region and operates the risk management process.
• Key point of contact for insurance questions and claims, and responsible for annual insurance renewal process
• Drives process improvement to enhance lean efficient transaction processing, accurate record keeping, streamlined financial reporting and optimized controls.
• Technical expert to guide complex accounting issues within the region. Involvement in policy development and interpretation including proactive analysis of technical accounting impacts (FASB, GAAP, IFRS, Audit, SEC, taxes, etc.) and the presentation of impacts to financial and nonfinancial management.
• Reports directly to CFO for North America. Dotted line reporting to Dematic Global Chief Accounting Officer and regular interface with the KION corporate accounting group.
• Scope of responsibilities: North America (US, Canada and Mexico). North America represents revenue > Euro 2.0B (Ref: KION investor relations presentation).

What We Are Looking For:

• Accounting qualification required (i.e. Bachelor\'s / Master\'s degree in Accounting or CPA); CPA or equivalent highly preferred.
• 10+ years of directly applicable finance and accounting experience in a progressive, fast paced environment
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence others outside and across the organizational structure to build meaningful relationships, and drive results across functional lines
• Advanced application of IFRS/GAAP accounting standards
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Experience building and successfully delivering a high performing shared services function is preferred
• Strong knowledge of laws and regulations from government or other control bodies that impact the financial practices of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $125,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year Benefits:
