Position Overview



Under general supervision in the Expenditure Control Unit, Bureau of Expenditure Accounting, Office of Fiscal Services, Department of Human Services, performs professional accounting functions in the Expenditure Control Unit. Maintains and reconciles voucher adjustment/warrant actions for the Department. Researches, corrects errors and/or deletes payment documents on Comptroller suspense file. Makes reconciling adjustments and maintains records of adjustments entered into Automated Agency Accounting System to reconcile with Comptroller's.

Essential Functions


Performs professional accounting functions in the Expenditure Control Unit. Maintains and reconciles accounts. Researches and prepares adjustment forms to be sent to Comptroller's Office. Researches discrepancies on the monthly reconciliations of agency's appropriations with the Office of the Comptroller as provided by the General Accounting Unit. Develops and runs spreadsheet updates. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications


Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting OR four (4) years of technical accounting experience.

Qualifying state employees, in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.
