Job Description

Accountant Job Purpose: Provides financial data and information and accurate documentation to accounting department leadership by understanding the company related internal control policies and procedures and researching, compiling and analyzing required supporting documentation.

Accountant Job Duties:

\xc2\xb7 Determine financial actions and prepare asset, liability, and capital accounting entries by compiling and analyzing supporting documentation and information.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

\xc2\xb7 Substantiate financial transactions by auditing supporting documents.

\xc2\xb7 Effectively summarize and report work status to direct reports.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains internal controls by searching for control deficiencies and recommending actions for improvement.

\xc2\xb7 Guide other departments over internal control policies and procedures and answer questions.

\xc2\xb7 Reconcile financial and account discrepancies by collecting and analyzing supporting information/documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

\xc2\xb7 Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

\xc2\xb7 Compile with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

\xc2\xb7 Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

\xc2\xb7 Accomplishes the result by performing the duty.

\xc2\xb7 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education / Training:

Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting with at least four years of responsible accounting and auditing experience.
