Part-time (Wednesday - Sunday; April 1 - September 30, 2026)

Pay Rate:

$20.00/hour

Summary:




The Zooventure Coordinator is responsible for the creation and implementation of an educational, safe, skill-building, and fun curriculum for youth participating in the Zooventure career development program. They also oversee the daily operation of the conservation education Zooventure program. The Coordinator will work to create a quality work study program for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors that blends career exploration and conservation education with practical work experience, providing a unique opportunity for youth interested in zoological career fields. The Coordinator will also provide all necessary support for the daily delivery of the Zooventure program to Zoo visitors by work study students. This position reports directly to the Interpretation and Visitor Experience Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities

:



Develop and deliver work study training curriculum. Recruit work study participants. Ensure ongoing support and supervision for all work study participants. Supply management. Oversee daily administrative, operational, and logistical activities of the Zooventure program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Ability to work comfortably with diverse groups of people. Highly organized. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate youth. Demonstrated leadership skills. Enjoy working independently and effectively manage time during both slow and hectic periods. Independent thinker and proactive problem solver.

Qualifications:



Experience with youth leadership preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred. Experience with nature interpretation preferred. Experience with customer service preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including a motor vehicle report.

Education and Experience:



High school diploma or GED Equivalent.
