How does this position make an impact on the community?

The Family Housing Center team provides support through short-term emergency shelter in the Missoula Family Housing Center, case management and rental assistance for unhoused families to find and maintain safe, stable housing and achieve self-sufficiency.

Position Specific Responsibilities:



Works with residents to develop service plans, set goals and implement strategies to meet identified goals. Ability to engage with children and offer parenting resources and support as needed. Provides trauma-informed and survivor-focused advocacy to residents in the Family Housing Center.

Some of what you'll do in this position:



Coordinates and completes intakes with participants, including orientation and explanation of policies. Maintains a caseload of approximately 10-15 residents, providing intensive case management to all residents. Provides 6-months of robust follow-up services to families that have exited the program. Completes participant records and case notes in a timely manner ensuring all information is accurate and up to date. Assists with community resources and intensive housing search. Provides trauma-informed and person centered advocacy. Helps foster a sense of personal strength and self-sufficiency in participants. Completes assessments for the Missoula Coordinated Entry System. Coordinates meetings between participants and Housing Advocate Network volunteers. Conducts in-depth assessments of participants needs. Identify housing resources and develop relationships with property owners, property management companies, and landlords to increase housing opportunities. Demonstrate best practices in cultural competency and cultural humility. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; practice anti-racist service delivery and advocacy for all individuals.

Minimum Qualifications:



High school graduate or High School Equivalency (GED or HiSET), along with one year of relevant work experience, as determined by the service providing agency. Associate degree in human services, social services, public health or equivalent work experience in a non-profit human services field. (preferred but not required)

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. The base wage for this position starts at $21.70/hour - higher wage would be based on experience calculated using YWCA Missoula's wage matrix.
