Job Description

The Commodore Club (formerly the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Vergennes) is seeking a caring and responsible Youth Program Assistant to help provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging after-school environment for local children in grades 5 through 12.

This part-time position (15 hours per week) plays a key role in supporting daily activities, building positive relationships, and ensuring that all youth feel welcomed and supported.

What You'll Do

Supervise and engage with youth in daily activities, games, and enrichment programs Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment Help plan and lead recreational and educational activities Provide guidance and encouragement during after-school homework or projects Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space Support the Club's policies, safety procedures, and code of conduct

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or teens (in schools, camps, recreation, or community programs) preferred Friendly, dependable, and positive attitude Ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds Strong communication and teamwork skills Must be at least 18 years old Background check required prior to employment

Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week (Monday-Friday,3-6 PM) Location: The Commodore Club, 20 Armory Lane, Vergennes, VT
