As a Youth Mentor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting children and adolescents through their developmental journeys. Responsibilities



Build trusting relationships with youth by offering consistent guidance, encouragement, and active listening. Develop individualized mentoring plans that support each child's unique needs, interests, and goals. Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior. Collaborate with families, educators, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate support strategies. Monitor youth progress and provide regular feedback to program coordinators to ensure effective mentorship. Assist children with daily routines such as homework help, life skills development, and conflict resolution. Promote inclusive practices by working effectively with children with disabilities or behavioral health challenges. Maintain detailed records of interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with organizational policies.

Skills



Strong background in special education or experience working with children with disabilities. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and child welfare practices. Proven experience in mentoring, childcare, or social work environments. Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse youth populations and collaborating with families and professionals. Ability to manage conflicts calmly and constructively through effective conflict management techniques. Demonstrated teaching ability to support educational activities and skill development. Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to empower young people through positive role modeling. Familiarity with child development stages and trauma-informed care approaches is a plus. Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
