**Job Summary:**
As a Youth Center Gym Program Volunteer in Chicago, Illinois, you will support Maryville by participating in youth-focused events, assisting with administrative tasks, coaching, providing mentorship, and tutoring children in the organization's care. Volunteers will work under the guidance of Maryville's Volunteer Coordinator.
**Responsibilities:**
- Follow the directions provided by the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Execute assigned duties in a professional and ethical manner.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of the children under Maryville's care.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
**Skills/Knowledge:**
- Specific skills and knowledge will vary based on assignments.
- Display a positive, cooperative, and supportive attitude.
**Physical Demands:**
- May involve frequent sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or move objects weighing more than 20 pounds.
- Must have visual, hearing, and learning capabilities to perform required tasks.
**Environment and Scheduling:**
- Duties may include interactions with youth who may exhibit threatening, aggressive, or under the influence behavior.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential for this role.
**HIPAA Privacy Training and Sanctions:**
All volunteers with access to protected health information under the HIPAA Privacy Rule must undergo training to understand and adhere to privacy regulations. Noncompliance may result in disciplinary action, including termination.
