DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Constant interactions sand engaging with youth and youth programs in various educational areas. Create an environment that promotes and stimulate program participation Provide guidance and role modeling to youth attendees Program development and implementation Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for youth attendees and visitors. Daily monitoring of front counter, sign-in and check out of ALL youth attendees Hold youth attendees accountable to the Youth Center guidelines and policies. Document incidents and any respective discipline for youth attendees. Organize and participate in activities and games to entertain center youth attendees. Prepare and serve snacks for attendees Prepare areas for snacks and special events. Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming Center. Responsible for basic cleaning of the Center, including but not limited to throwing out trash, cleaning windows, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dishwashing, setting up and putting away tables, and organizing. Ensure a productive work environment by participating in unit staff meetings. Participate in special programs and events. Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

Must have High School diploma or GED One year experience in a similar youth program preferred Experience engaging and working with school age children Knowledge of youth development highly desired Any equivalent combination of knowledge and experience

Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:

Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems Ability to remain patient and calm at all times Ability to organize and supervise youth attendees in a safe environment Ability to speak, read and write in English Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired Must be able to complete CPR and First Aid Certifications within 3 months May participate in special programs and/or events. Ability to work standard office equipment (copier/computer/printer) Must be able to work odd hours or overtime on occasion, including nights, weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Working conditions may include indoor or outdoor settings (ex: field trips) for prolonged periods of time Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
