Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Aide/Respite Provider to support children in their home and community setting. This role involves working closely with parents, reporting manager, and the case worker as needed to foster a positive environment during services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education or mental health care. Prior experience working with children with disabilities, including autism is highly valued. Strong communication and a commitment to help others is required for this position!

Schedule

This positions takes place during afterschool and/or weekend times, we are willing to be flexible on which days of the week!

Responsibilities

Plan and implement activities tailored to each child's interests and care needs Support students with disabilities in community events and activities Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and social skills. Encourage appropriate life skills including hygiene reminders and general cleanliness Support children's social-emotional development through positive interactions and encouragement. Collaborate with a team who prioritizes inclusive environments and the well being of all.

Required Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older GED or High school diploma Drivers license, reliable vehicle, and insurance Knowledge and experience in behavioral and emotional regulation strategies Must be reliable and have strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Education or college degree in child development, special education, psychology, social work, counseling or other related field preferred, but not required!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 20 per week
