The Carrboro Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources Department is seeking qualified individuals to officiate Youth Basketball games. Candidates with previous officiating experience are preferred, but officiating experience is not required. Basketball playing or coaching experience and sound basketball rules knowledge is highly desirable. Play is governed by local league rules and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules.


Youth Basketball games are played primarily on Friday evenings and Saturdays from December through early March with some weeknight games. Age groups include 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, 9-12 (Girls) and 13-15. Flexible scheduling exists with officials being assigned 2-10 games per week. Training is provided in November and December.


Location(s): Various local middle schools


Pay Rate: $36.00 - $42.00 per game
