Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises programs in designated areas; fills in when teachers/instructors/counselors when absent
Under the guidance of the Senior Program Director/Program Director, helps to develop new programs and generates ideas to improve program quality and delivery
Maintains and keeps organized records of staff recognition, achievements, certifications, discipline, training, and evaluation
Maintains a proactive leadership role in the day-to-day program delivery, and keeps on the pulse of program needs of our participants, via survey, focus groups, and one-on-one conversation, and makes recommendations for new programming opportunities base on the results
Responsible for promotion and marketing of YMCA programs and services, and works with Senior Program director/Program Director to develop new and creative marketing ideas
Maintains and manages all program equipment in related areas
Works with Senior Program Director/Program Director to create and implement new programs that serve youth, adults and families, which are designed to build community
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director/Program Director makes sure that programs are meeting budgeted expectations for both revenue and expenses
Maintains excellent customer service skills and a high level of professionalism when dealing with children, parents, members, volunteers, and the public
Provides program excellence
Works with Senior Program Director/Program Director to provide appropriate training opportunities to allow staff to meet federal, state, and local (as well as YMCA of the USA recommended) standards and certifications
Program Coordinator will be trained in bus driving a 15 passenger vehicle to substitute as a bus driver when needed.

Education, Certification, Skills, and Experience:
High school degee or GED
2 or more years experience working with children and adults in an education/recreation environment
YMCA Leadership Certification:
Position requires ongoing progress towards Leader Certification
Working Conditions:
Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Must be physically active to play games and sports with the children
Must be able to pick-up at least 35 pounds
Must have visual acuity to observe all children
