In this role you will gain broad knowledge of the North Dakota legal system regarding The North Dakota Youth Correctional Center and the Division of Juvenile Services. You will gain an understanding of the circumstances that lead to juveniles being placed at the facility. Additionally, you will gain a basic understanding of the responsibilities of various positions in the facility, such as front-line staff, security officers, case managers and treatment staff.
Student Requirements
To be eligible for a North Dakota State Government Stipend Student Internship, a student:
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program in the United States, and
Must be at least of sophomore standing by the beginning of the internship (or must have completed the first year of a vocational/technical program by the beginning of the internship), and
Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Must be working in an internship that aligns with the student's academic major or career goals.
