Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Yard Jockey/Spotter to ensure the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers around the yard using yard trucks. This role is essential in maintaining an organized yard and supporting timely deliveries and pickups. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of Class A driving experience, a strong safety mindset, and a team-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Safely maneuver trailers and containers around the yard using yard trucks Position trailers for loading/unloading at designated docks Communicate with drivers using hand signals or radios Maintain a clean, hazard-free yard environment Conduct pre-trip inspections and report maintenance issues Assist with trailer loading/unloading as needed Keep accurate records of trailer movements and yard inventory Follow all safety protocols and company procedures Transport rolls from the warehouse to the Dixie Plant Be cross-trained on both Rollside and Yard Spotter functions

Qualifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Minimum 3 years of professional Class A driving experience Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Valid Medical Card and FMCSA Clearinghouse registration Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) Basic mechanical knowledge Strong communication and time management skills Ability to adapt to schedule changes and delays Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen High School diploma or equivalent
