Job Description

The Workship position serves to implement programming in the Office of Civic Engagement. Student workers are responsible for communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders; taking initiative to plan, organize and implement academic and co-curricular programming; multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment; assisting with administrative support; working with local youth and seniors; flexibility to change plans regularly to meet adapting needs; contributing to a positive environment for colleagues and volunteers; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Must be a current Troy University student enrolled at least half-time.

2. Ability to perform work with a strong attention to detail

3. Proficient skill at Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

4. Experience serving in community and non-profit contexts



Please note: Student positions are FICA/Medicare exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed. To qualify for the FICA/Medicare exemption, you must be enrolled on a half-time basis for the Fall, Spring, or Summer.

4. Experience giving presentations

5. Experience managing social media

6. Participation in discussions on current events

7. Publicity Experience (designing flyers, social media post)

8. Office Experience (answering phones/emails, filing paperwork)

9. Experience working with community agencies (nonprofit, school, government agency, etc.)
