We are seeking a dedicated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join our reputable law firm. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and writing skills, with experience in workers' compensation law and a broad understanding of various legal areas including personal injury, litigation, and legal drafting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, providing legal expertise and representation for clients involved in workers' compensation cases. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing case files, conducting legal research, and developing effective strategies to advocate for clients' rights.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
Manage a caseload involving workers' compensation law, ensuring timely filings and adherence to deadlines.
Analyze medical records, employment documents, and other relevant evidence to build strong cases.
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings related to workers' compensation claims.
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and provide legal advice tailored to their specific circumstances.
Maintain meticulous case files and documentation in compliance with legal standards.
Stay current on developments in workers' compensation law as well as related areas such as personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, family law, estate planning, environmental law, securities law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, patent law, and litigation.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
Proven experience or familiarity with workers' compensation law is highly preferred.
Strong research skills using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
Excellent legal writing and drafting skills with attention to detail.
Experience in negotiation and litigation strategies.
Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work product.
Legal administrative experience is beneficial for managing case documentation efficiently.
Effective communication skills for client interaction and courtroom advocacy.
Knowledge of various legal practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law is a plus but not required.
