Job Summary
This job includes duties related to materials management and tracking for utility warehousing operations under the working title of Materials Management Technician. May assist with Coordinating and collaborating warehouse activities with other materials management personnel to organize the receiving, storing, moving, and issuing of materials, tools, equipment, and products as well as assisting with how to best organize and arrange stock for efficient operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
Assisting with warehouse shipping and receiving, consolidating weekly statements and approving payments, and acting as backup to warehouse workers.
Off-loads and loads, and transports material using a forklift truck.
Operates, inspects, and maintains forklift to assure safe operation, and schedules necessary forklift repairs.
Examines delivered materials for damage and inspects product for compliance with purchase order and material specifications documents.
Moves, stacks, and shelves material into and out of storage
Assists with the physical inventory of materials on a weekly, monthly, and yearly schedule.
Can assist in using the computer to enterIssue Documents into Materials Management System and verify.

Ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to use ten-key adding machine.
Knowledge of basic math and accounting.
Ability to perform maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment.
Knowledge of customer service techniques.
Fully understands City and Department policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of stockedmaterial availability and stocking needs in warehouseand yard.
Comprehensive knowledge of on-hand electrical, water, and broadbandinventory in the warehouse and in the storage yard.
Understands material application in utility systems and can advise customers on appropriate use.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM
PREFERRED
High School Diploma or GED and or functionally related licenses or certificates
Experience Requirements
Experience in a warehouse preferred, which can include one year of related or vocational or technical school training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
