The Wind Monitoring Specialist (WMS) will report to the Vice President of Engineering \xe2\x80\x93 Operations and will work closely with the Engineering, Wind Operations, Construction, and our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) partners to ensure high availability and performance of our operating fleet and any new projects in the pipeline.

The Greenbacker Operations team is responsible for Asset Management, Field Operations, Technical Due Diligence, and Construction. As part of this larger team, the WMS will monitor our wind fleet in our primary (PF Drive) and secondary (e.g. local platforms) monitoring platforms to ensure that plants are available and operating at an optimal performance. The WMS will ensure that downtime and any other relevant event(s), such as curtailments and other alarms/statuses are properly recorded under our monitoring platforms for end of month reporting and overall trends analysis. The WMS shall communicate any wind farm-side deficiencies to our internal Wind team and our O&M partners and be in contact with our monitoring partners when data issues arise, creating tickets as needed. This role also has an opportunity to engage and build on our Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS) to bring in and understand system data and ultimately leverage that data to perform predictive maintenance.

As part of this larger team, the WMS will help troubleshoot and correct issues remotely with the assistance of our O&M partners and our technical support organization. They will have the opportunity to continue to expand our knowledge base in this field by creating guides and Standard Operating Procedures and providing input to our Design Guidelines. The WMS also assists our Performance Operations team in monitoring and finding faults/underperformance in our growing fleet of renewables assets and communicating those issues to our Wind Operations team for prompt resolution.

In this role, the WMS will have the opportunity to engage and monitor our Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS), and we expect that the larger team will work to ensure that we are gaining the most value from these systems. We envision a future where the CMS can help us go from a reactive maintenance to a predictive maintenance organization and the WMS will be instrumental in that journey. As we continue to grow, the opportunity to gain further knowledge into monitoring other renewable energy sources, such as storage, solar, and others will be available. We welcome curious mind and are willing to share knowledge across our organization so that our members can add more tools to their toolbox.

The role would ideally be place in our Vermont, Maine, or Denver offices but open to a fully remote placement for the right background and experience.
