Purpose of Position
Wildlife inventory projects in Minnesota and North Dakota where we conduct field surveys on birds and other wildlife to address a variety of applied questions
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in conducting surveys in the field (e.g., capture and tagging of birds, maintaining Motus bird tracking network), review of imagery and audio recordings from survey instruments (e.g. trail cameras, video recordings, and acoustic recording units), data entry and proofing.
Required Competencies
Background in basic wildlife surveys
The ability to work in early mornings on weekend and weekdays as weather permits.
Strong skills in wildlife identification
The ability to work independently and in teams
Background in GIS/GPS, background in program R
A positive attitude.
Minimum Requirements
Pursuing or obtained a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology
Valid driver's license
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
