Hudson Baking Co. is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable
Wholesale Baker
to join our team. This role focuses on the consistent production of wholesale bread and pastries to supply our community partners--local coffee shops, markets, and restaurants--with our signature long-fermented sourdough breads and baked goods. The Wholesale Baker will work closely with our head baker and production team to meet wholesale schedules with accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Preparation
Scale, mix, and ferment doughs using long-fermentation techniques.
Shape, proof, and bake sourdough breads, bagels, cinnamon rolls, brownies, and other wholesale items.
Follow established recipes, formulas, and production schedules to ensure consistency.
Quality Control
Maintain Hudson Baking Co.'s high standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
Monitor proofing times, oven temperatures, and baking consistency.
Ensure all products meet wholesale account specifications.
Wholesale Order Fulfillment
Organize and prepare wholesale orders for packaging and delivery.
Label, date, and box products accurately.
Communicate with the wholesale team on order changes or shortages.
Sanitation & Organization
Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout production.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Assist in cleaning bakery equipment, tools, and prep spaces daily.
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with bakers, delivery drivers, and wholesale managers.
Report production issues, ingredient shortages, or equipment needs promptly.
Uphold the bakery's values of respect, reliability, and community service.
Qualifications
Prior baking or kitchen experience preferred (wholesale/production baking a plus).
Understanding of sourdough and fermentation methods, or willingness to learn.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, consistency, and efficiency.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings or overnight shifts.
