Description: The Wellness Center Attendant will assist and motivate members of the Exeter Area YMCA to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Hours: Sat 2pm - 5pm and Sun 1pm - 4pm with possibility of more hours during the week if desired. Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Integrate the mission of the YMCA and follow the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.
  • Conducts new member orientations following the guidelines established by the Branch.
  • Closely supervises members and attends to his/her needs in a polite, friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Circulates through the wellness center to maintain a friendly, open and helpful relationship with all staff and members, as well as identifying issues, concerns and potential problems in operations.
  • Promotes member programs and services to all members and encourages cross training and fun activity to attain his/her health and wellness goals.
  • Take professional initiative to promote personal training, programs and all wellness related opportunities during member interactions.
  • Support member retention through all programs and services.
  • Supervise members to ensure safe use of all fitness equipment in the wellness center.
  • Help maintain a neat, clean and pleasant environment on the wellness floor.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOW HOW: Basic knowledge of fitness industry standards and trends required. A willingness to grow within the industry encouraged. CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of DOH. Superb customer service skills. Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.
