Position Overview
We are seeking a Welding Robot Operator & Technician to operate, program, and
maintain robotic welding systems for steel fabrication. The ideal candidate will combine
hands-on welding experience with robotic programming, path planning, and
troubleshooting skills across multiple industrial robotic control platforms.
Key Responsibilities
? Operate and program robotic welding systems utilizing:
o FANUC Teach Pendant programming (TP programming language)
o Collaborative robot control interfaces (URScript, CRX, or other Cobot
platforms)
o Multi-axis industrial robot programming (general 6-axis control
experience, regardless of brand)
? Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting on robotic
welding equipment.
? Conduct tool center point (TCP) calibrations, torch angle adjustments, and wire
feed maintenance.
? Manage consumables inventory (wire, gas, contact tips, torch parts, liners) and
replace as needed.
? Optimize robot paths, weld sequences, and work cell layouts for welding large
structural steel panels.
? Read and interpret welding blueprints, symbols, joint configurations, and panel
assembly drawings.
? Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure
high weld integrity, productivity, and adherence to production time constraints.
? Maintain compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working
environment.
Required Qualifications
? Minimum 2 years of welding experience (FCAW, GMAW preferred).
? At least 1 year robotic welding experience (programming, path teaching, or
operation).
? Hands-on experience with at least one industrial robot programming interface
(e.g., FANUC TP, ABB RAPID, Yaskawa INFORM, KUKA KRL, URScript, or
similar industrial robotic languages).
? Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
? Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and layout plans.
Preferred AWS Certifications
? AWS Certified Robotic Arc Welding (CRAW) - Operator or Technician
? AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Senior CWI (SCWI)
? AWS Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS)
? Additional endorsements in automation, robotics, or welding processes are a
plus.
Preferred Experience
? Multi-axis robotic welding (6-axis industrial or collaborative robots).
? Welding of large structural panels, flat plate assemblies, and shipbuilding or
heavy fabrication.

Pay: $24.17 - $35.00 per hour
