Welding Instructor -

KHP Logistics LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Welding Instructor to join the Vocational Training Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky. This is a meaningful, student-centered role working with young adults (ages 16-24) who are committed to building their futures.

This is a full-time, on-site, year-round instructor position in a well-equipped welding shop with strong support from Center staff.

Responsibilities

Teach welding fundamentals and advanced techniques, including: Arc Welding Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) TIG Welding (Aluminum + Stainless Steel) Develop lesson plans, training materials, and hands-on demonstrations. Supervise shop activities and ensure strict compliance with OSHA and Job Corps safety standards. Track student progress, update Training Achievement Records (TAR), and support individualized learning. Promote professionalism, attendance, employability, and workplace readiness. Support job placement efforts, including working with local industry partners. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and shop environment. Provide mentorship and positive role modeling for students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

AWS certification(s)

required or ability to become certified quickly. Demonstrated skill in ARC, FCAW, and TIG welding processes. Strong communication and teaching/mentoring abilities. Ability to work professionally with young adults in an educational setting. Previous vocational teaching experience is welcome but not required. Must pass background checks required for working on a federal campus.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
