For nearly 30 years, Ducworks has established itself as a leading custom metal manufacturer and fabricator. Our diverse capabilities include machining, welding, sheet metal, coatings, assembly, testing and installation. Our exciting projects include aerospace tooling to support NASA missions to the moon and Mars, dry dock structures for nuclear submarine maintenance at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, and high-end ornamental, and structural metals for temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide. Notable past and current projects include the City Creek retractable roof in Salt Lake City, Disney World's Flight of Avatar amusement ride, and the Salt Lake Temple seismic upgrade and remodel.

We are seeking a Weld Shop Manager to lead our fast-paced, highly skilled welding department. This role requires a hands-on leader who is committed to safety, quality, productivity, and building a disciplined, high-performing team.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on the shop floor, understands complex welding processes, and can coordinate people, workflow, and resources to meet production goals.

Essential Job Functions Include:



Overseeing safety in the department for both in-shop and field, maintain equipment, tools, and keep a clean, safe work environment.

Coordinating and scheduling the department's work using Global Shop ERP system

Understanding technical documents such as drawings, prints and specifications

Conducting department meetings and daily stand-up meeting to plan the day's work and keep everyone on the same page.

Attending production meetings

Ensuring department work meets customer and company quality standards

Consistent and reliable attendance

Conducting employee performance reviews

Meeting schedules and production targets

Reporting of various administrative items

Willingness to work hands-on alongside department employees

Assist with hiring, onboarding, evaluations, corrective actions, and training.

Requirements:



Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma

Mechanical aptitude and keen understanding of safety and quality control

The Manager must be able to properly use hand tools, paint equipment and read and understand blueprints.

Strong ability and experience in leadership with at least 2 years' experience in a management position.

Experience in welding, fabrication and similar industries.
