Website Document Accessibility Specialist
(Temporary)
to assist the Digital Marketing Manager in ensuring compliance with website accessibility standards for documents across our website properties. It is anticipated that this project will occur February through May. This is a hybrid, temporary position --training is in-person, but ongoing work can be done remotely within the state of Iowa or in-person. The role, classified as a Temporary Worker, is limited to 780 hours per fiscal year and is exempt from benefits and Merit Rule coverage. The salary is $25 per hour and will report directly to Staci Ballard, Chief Strategic Communications Officer.
What You'll Do:
As a member of our team, you will:
Create and edit website documents to meet standards using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and In Design
Utilize accessibility checker software, such as CommonLook
Train staff in appropriate standards for continued compliance
Ideal candidates
will have:
Proficiency in website management and ADA compliance standards
Competency with using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign
Skills in educating others on accessibility compliance regulations
An understanding of accessibility features in additional computer programs is preferred
