Job Description

Eastern Action has an opening for a full time benefitted Weatherization Crew Technician.

The Weatherization Crew Technician works as a part of the weatherization crew to improve the energy efficiency of homes. This position performs direct services, including the installation of home weatherization materials, minor building repairs, repairs to stop cold air infiltration and associated record keeping.

The candidate must have construction and/or building science knowledge, dependability, problem-solving skills. Construction & insulating experience preferred but not required. High school diploma or GED, and valid driver's license required.

Essential Functions:

Install weatherization program measures such as: window and door weather stripping, door sweeps, window and door caulking, rim joist insulation, pipe insulation, door replacement, spray foam insulation, guided air sealing, thermostat installation, etc
Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and CSC safety procedures as directed by supervisor.
Follow Standard Work Specifications (SWS) set forth by the state.
Air infiltration efficiency testing.
Job site and equipment clean-up.
Install or repair windows and/or doors.
Make minor structural repairs and carpentry work as required.
Perform other installations or repairs as called for by supervisor.
Use hand tools or power tools in a prescribed, safe manner when installing materials and repairing structures
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Understand basic building performance principles
Experienced with hand and power tools and a desire to learn weatherization techniques.
OSHA certification preferred.
The position requires working in dark, uncomfortable and confined environments. Employees must be able to crawl through and work in constricted spaces.
Requires knowledge of the construction of residential dwellings and housing types.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
HVAC and/or Electrical experience a plus (starting wage higher)

Pay/Hours:

Starting pay of $14.50 per hour for 90 day evaluation/ $15.00 afterwards with potential of raises based on performance.
Weatherization crew works Monday thru Thursday (4 - 10hrs) schedule'
