The City of Blair, NE is hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our dedicated team! This full-time, non-exempt position plays a vital role in keeping our community safe by ensuring proper wastewater treatment and environmental compliance. What You'll Do

Operate and monitor the Wastewater Treatment Plant to ensure proper and efficient treatment of wastewater in compliance with state and federal regulations. Conduct routine sampling, testing, and process adjustments to maintain optimal water quality. Perform preventive maintenance and assist in minor repairs on treatment equipment and related systems. Maintain accurate records and assist with required reporting to regulatory agencies. Help keep facilities clean, safe, and operational, including general maintenance, groundskeeping, and snow removal as needed. Work collaboratively with the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor and fellow operators to ensure continuous, reliable service for the City of Blair and surrounding areas.

What You Bring

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Licensing: Must possess a State of Nebraska Wastewater Operator License - Grade 1 or higher. Experience: At least one year of experience in maintenance or mechanical work preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work safely in an industrial environment. Other: Must hold a valid driver's license at the time of hire.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily at the Wastewater Treatment Plant with occasional exposure to dust, heat, fumes, wet conditions, and confined spaces. Operators may be required to climb, lift, and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining proper safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
