Job Description

The principal function of an employee in this position is to perform operations and maintenance duties on the District wastewater collection and treatment system, including monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment. Additionally, an employee in this Position performs testing and sampling duties, including making equipment adjustments to maintain operational standards. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the District Manager. The principal duties of this position are performed in a collection and treatment plant environment that may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of power tools and equipment and exposure to hazardous and allergenic materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (may vary by assignment):

Inspects and maintains sewer lift stations, pumps, collection lines, manholes, equipment, and related facilities of the wastewater collection and treatment systems;

Monitors operation of pumping systems, MBR system, blowers, screens and fine screen, disinfection, mixing, filtration, dewatering equipment, lagoons, irrigation and related treatment equipment and systems;

Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment;

Monitors control panels, gauges, and meters to detect variations in operating conditions and hours of operation;

Collects samples for testing of various plant processes;

Operates a variety of hand tools and job-related power equipment;

Operates job-related heavy equipment including, but not limited to dump trucks, sewer cleaning trucks, backhoes, and forklifts;

Locates system connections and laterals for contractors and repair and maintenance functions;

Performs general building maintenance and groundskeeping tasks such as cleaning, snow removal, landscaping, and related tasks;

Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practices.

Responds on-call after duty hours in emergency situations;

Performs other related duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.30 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
