The City of Clinton, Iowa, Regional Water Reclamation Facility (RWRF) is seeking candidates for the position of Wastewater Operator (I, II, Specialist). The Clinton RWRF is responsible for the transport and treatment of wastewater for the cities of Clinton, Camanche, Low Moor, and industries in the local area. Recently, the City of Clinton expanded their treatment capabilities to include processing wastewater from Clinton's Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM). This expansion project focuses on environmental consciousness and responsible industrial practices for the City of Clinton.

Wastewater Operator (I, II, Specialist) Summary:

The Wastewater Operator performs skilled technical and manual work in the operation and maintenance of the City of Clinton's Regional Water Reclamation Facility (RWRF) and associated pump stations. Operators are responsible for process control, equipment monitoring, sludge handling, gas system operation, laboratory sampling, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Operators ensure the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of one of the most advanced water reclamation facilities in the Midwest.

Experience/Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Required

Valid Driver's License

Iowa DNR Grade I Wastewater Certification required within 18 months of hire.

Iowa DNR Grade II Wastewater Certification required within 24 months of hire.

Experience in wastewater treatment, industrial operations, or mechanical/electrical maintenance preferred.

Experience with SCADA systems, lab testing, or digester operations preferred.

Salary and Benefits:

Generous benefit package including paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS) contributions, and group health/dental/life insurance. Vision insurance, long-term disability insurance, and flexible health/dependent care spending plan contributions can be purchased through payroll deduct.

Hourly salary rates between $26.71 and $39.92. Salary dependent on qualifications at the time of hire.
