Waste Equipment Service Specialist

Basic Functions:



Service work related to commercial waste compactors, balers, and related waste industry equipment. Work includes troubleshooting, repair, installation, and removal of waste equipment, both at customer locations and company shop facilities. Equipment systems include electrical controls, hydraulics, and metal parts. Tasks include cutting and joining metal parts for fabricating or repairing equipment and various other articles. Completion of production requirements while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

:

Knowledge and practice of safety procedures and precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade. Attending safety meetings as required. Ensuring work environment is safe and clean. Maintaining company property / equipment is in order and in good working conditions.

Complete all paperwork to maintain an accurate record of time, materials such as electrical control parts, hydraulic hoses & fittings, steel, paint, hydraulic fluid, and other miscellaneous supplies used during work assignments for proper and thorough billing and inventory control.

Listen to and follow directions from supervisor / manager and complete / perform any duties as assigned by supervisor / manager.

Maintain a routine inventory of supplies that are used for operating the equipment and forming the work product.

Maintain daily fleet inspection sheets and advise of any needed repairs.

Willingness to teach / instruct any technical aspects of job to co-workers in order to strengthen MCS's value in the market area.

Customer Service - Acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner towards customers and co-workers.

Skills:



Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic control systems and ability to read schematics.

Ability to use tools (power and hand tools) and others such as electronic meters, hydraulic pressure gauges, arc welder, oxy-acetylene torch, and related metal fabrication tools.

Ability to stand for long periods of time and to be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. plus consistently.

Education and Training: High School Diploma or above.

Experience and Related Requirements

:

One-year experience in service/repair and welding

Valid driver's license

Bilingual Spanish a plus

Class A CDL a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
