The Wash Rack/Yard Person is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dealership's trucks, yard, and related equipment. This role ensures vehicles are properly cleaned and prepared for delivery, service, or display, while supporting overall yard operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Wash and detail trucks, trailers, and equipment using appropriate cleaning methods and tools.
Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and report any damage or maintenance needs.
Move trucks and trailers safely within the yard and to designated areas.
Maintain the wash rack area, ensuring equipment is clean, functional, and stocked with supplies.
Assist with yard organization, including parking, staging, and inventory control.
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure when required.
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations related to cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
Support other departments as needed with vehicle movement or yard-related tasks.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
Ability to operate large trucks and yard equipment safely.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing, bending, and walking.
