We are seeking a skilled and reliable Warehouseman to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping and receiving, and heavy equipment operation. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, safety standards, and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth operations within a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with warehouse management systems and various types of heavy equipment is highly desirable. The Warehouseman plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory control.
Load and unload shipments utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
Operate forklifts, and other heavy machinery safely for materials handling and movement within the warehouse.
Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
Maintain proper documentation of inventory movements and ensure proper storage of materials.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and mechanical tools to ensure safe operation.
Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for efficient storage and retrieval.
Adhere to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, construction standards, and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse operations, including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, crane operation, and heavy lifting techniques.
Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience operating RF scanners and warehouse management systems effectively.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy.
Prior experience in construction or similar industries is a plus.
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently while following all safety guidelines.
Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership skills are advantageous but not required. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
