The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, and will be responsible for a variety of warehouse operations including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and materials handling. This position requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to move, load, and unload goods safely and efficiently.
Perform inventory control activities to maintain accurate stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS).
Pick and pack orders using RF scanners and follow order fulfillment protocols.
Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying that incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled, documented, and packaged.
Conduct routine inspections and perform basic troubleshooting on warehouse equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant warehouse workspace.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to streamline distribution and improve workflow.
Attend training sessions on safety procedures, equipment operation, and WMS best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (e.g., cranes, pallet jacks, order pickers).
Proficiency in inventory management systems; AS400 experience preferred.
Understanding of warehouse distribution processes and logistics best practices.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment troubleshooting.
Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or moving.
Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or order fulfillment environment preferred.
Knowledge of proper packaging and shipping standards to ensure product integrity.
