Summary of Position:

The Warehouse Supervisor manages effectively and efficiently the receiving and shipping of all incoming and outgoing goods. This position is responsible for documenting all transactions accurately, organizes goods, and keeps inventory on a regular basis.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Receives and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects, and distributes to necessary departments
  • Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any differences in the ERP/CMP.
  • Replenishes stock and inventory as needed
  • Maximizes warehouse space by strategically organizing outgoing product and orders
  • Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse
  • Conducts monthly packing and product inventory
  • Schedules delivery appointments
  • Creates and prints and load sheets, BOL\xe2\x80\x99s, and invoices for drivers within ERP/CMP
  • Efficiently works within a dispatch department
  • Solves problems for sales team and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders
  • Keeps organized shipping records, including statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped, and receipt dates
  • Troubleshoots shipping issues and works to solve these problems to increase warehouse and dispatch efficiency
  • Loads trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
  • Directs Warehouse Associates to prepare outgoing orders and notifies Terminal Manager when completed
  • Develops Inventory knowledge about freight and sea shipping regulations and practices
  • Collaborates with warehouse, purchasing, and other managers to optimize processes
  • Resolves issues regarding shipped orders
  • Ensures compliance to legal regulations and company policies
  • Reports to management on activities and issues
  • Directs the flow of packages from preparation to shipment
  • Inspects labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of warehouse practices

  • Solid knowledge of logistics procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Education and Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in warehouse environment
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • 1 year experience generating invoices
  • 1 year of ERP shipping & logistics experience; Business Central/Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
  • Forklift Certified
Supervisory:
  • This position is directly responsible for supervising the Warehouse Associates
Work Environment:

Greenhouse: 10%
  • The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside
  • Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
  • PPE must be worn at all times
Packhouse: 50%
  • The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38\xc2\xb0 F to preserve product quality
  • PPE must be worn at all times
Office: 40%
  • Sitting at a desk and/or staring at a computer screen for extended periods of time
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
