The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team of 2-5 part-time employees while managing day-to-day shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. This role ensures accurate and timely completion of 50-200 daily shipments, maintains a safe and organized work environment, and oversees inventory control, training, administrative support, and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Supervision
Maintain a safe warehouse environment at all times.
Ensure warehouse cleanliness, organization, and workstation readiness.
Assign and prioritize daily tasks and objectives for warehouse staff
Ensure all orders are accurately picked, packed, and ready for 4:00 PM carrier pickup.
Oversee product prepping, wrapping, and boxing.
Maintain clear visibility and assessment of warehouse operational needs.
Create and manage a two-week staffing schedule.
Training & Quality Control
Train staff on best practices and quality standards to maintain brand consistency.
Ensure product accuracy during picking, prepping, and packing.
Provide ongoing training in shipping procedures and workflow standards.
Inventory Management
Receive incoming product shipments and verify accuracy.
Maintain inventory levels of all shipping materials.
Oversee inventory of books stored both on-site and in remote storage locations.
Update inventory levels as materials are used; notify administration of restocking needs.
Provide real-time updates on low stock items.
Team Leadership & Workflow Coordination
Ensure the picking list is completed daily and used to plan prep and packaging needs.
Maintain stocked inventory of swag, stickers, and supplemental materials.
Ensure shelves and storage baskets are fully stocked and organized.
Plan ahead for future product and material needs.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with administration.
Administrative Duties
Review warehouse policies and procedures; recommend improvements.
Identify operational challenges and propose effective solutions.
Audit workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend process updates.
Communicate warehouse needs, suggestions, and concerns to administration in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Previous warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving experience preferred.
Supervisory or team lead experience is strongly preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lift, move, and handle 50 lb packages as required.
Work Environment
This role requires hands-on warehouse work, including standing for long periods, lifting boxes, and managing fast-paced shipping operations in a climate controlled environment.
