Job Title: Warehouse Specialist




Reports to: Director of Government Services



Location: Hazmat Control Point JBLM, WA



Schedule: Monday - Friday



Hours: 07:30 - 16:00 (subject to change due to site requirements)



Pay: $23.96 + $4.93 H&W



Description: Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the Military establishment's storage plan to include receive, unpack, arrange, store Hazardous Material, gather, pack, prepare and load Hazardous Material for dispatching. Checks supplies for damage and wear, reports faults and discrepancies to relevant parties, and mark and label stock according to SOP's.

Tasks and Responsibilities:



Verifies materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents. Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages. Labeling and Routing materials to prescribed storage locations. Receives, handles, and issues Hazardous Material per safety guidelines. Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials. Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage. Reviewing and following Safety Data Sheet storing procedures. Maintain inventory logs and inspection forms of material in storage locations. Removing materials from storage and preparing for shipment. Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehouse duties and move Hazardous Material. Conduct Quality Assurance Quality Control Checks Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks Services on all equipment. Handling, filling and ensuring propane tanks are in compliance for refilling. Assists environmental workers with the disposition of Hazardous Materials. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Must pass a preemployment background check and drug screen. Must be able to pass a background check and attain security clearance if required. Must be able to pass random drug testing (as required). Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Familiarity with warehouse software such as inventory management systems. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test for use of Respirator

Mental Requirements:



Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. Physically strong, agile, and dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions. Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and hand trucks. Ability to properly speak and have command of the English language to properly explain or give instructions to staff or customers.

Education:



High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of basic math and computer skills, including the ability to use inventory and logistics software.

Environmental Requirements:



May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. Ability to work with machinery that can cause damage. Ability to work with Hazardous Material.
