Responsible for assisting the shipping supervisor on processes so that orders are pulled/shipped correctly and in a timely fashion. Assist with the coordination of all the assigned facility's shipping functions daily. Will use computer to trouble shoot warehouse inventory issues, print assorted shipping documents, and is responsible for assisting in the training of new hires. They must be comfortable with paperwork, information systems, good documentation and have a good knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures. The expectation is to ensure that shipping processes are completed on time and effectively. Be a "hands-on" and working team lead by contributing to counting inventory, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving duties.###

Key Responsibilities



Understand and enforces all safety initiatives outlined by the Distribution Center Meets daily on time delivery expectations and sends nightly report to Supervisor. Must be able to perform the duties of the shipping team (pick, pack, ship, transfer, cycle count etc.) Understand department quotas and ensure employees are consistently meeting targets Route freight, size up loads, and send to customer portal correctly and accurately Follows standard operating procedures. Ensure FIFO is followed for all transactions. Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to Shipping Supervisor. Keeps area safe, clean, and organized. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information. Assist in the evaluation of warehouse associates regarding their performance, reports issues as required to shipping supervisor. Corresponds via in person, email, phone, teams, to internal/external personnel on matters related to scheduling trucks, stock issues, and general warehouse information as required. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise



Utilizes common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats. Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


Education-

High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)

5 Years warehouse experience in a high volume, fast paced Distribution operation Solid knowledge of logistics procedures and using FedEx & UPS world ship programs Understanding 3PL transportation routing portals is beneficial Using RF Smart or similar picking software


Computer Skills

Microsoft Outlook (email) Microsoft Office such as excel is a plus Oracle E1 software


Certificates and Licenses

Forklift certification Valid Driver's License (Required)


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is: o Continually required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Regularly required to sit or stand and to walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:

Regularly subjected to work near moving mechanical parts and to indoor temperature variations in a warehouse environment. Occasionally subjected to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is Frequently exposed to extreme heat, vibration, and movin0g mechanical hazard; and infrequently exposed to wet/humid conditions.
