Job Description


Located approximately 26 miles from the City of Fairbanks, Fort Knox is a centre of excellence for the Company as one of the few cold weather heap leach facilities in the world. Fort Knox celebrated its 25-year anniversary in 2021, and has produced over 8.5 million ounces since it began operation. In 2020, Kinross acquired Manh Choh \xe2\x80\x93 a project expected to commence production in 2024 and process ore at Fort Knox. Fort Knox prioritizes being a strong contributor to the State and local communities, and since 2001, has helped support more than 300 community partners and has contributed more than US$25 million to the Alaska Mental Health Trust.



Working under general supervision, perform a variety of tasks; receive, unpack, check, and store merchandise or materials; operate lift equipment; fill requisitions and orders; pack, crate, and ship materials as needed; and keeping a clean and safe work environment.

Job Responsibilities


1. Responsible for all tasks related to the receiving, issuing, and shipping of parts and materials.
2. Perform various material handling duties at site.
3. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
4. Remove strapping and open crates and containers.
5. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area while following 5S Standards.
6. Operate forklift routinely.
7. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
8. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
9. Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
10. Possession of a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license issued by the state.
11. Work safely in all areas; identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
12. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
13. Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of warehouse or inventory control experience preferred; heavy equipment with material handling and distribution experience desirable.


Skills


  • Basic knowledge of JDE or similar ERP system is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of shipping in addition to warehouse procedures and regulations preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of mining equipment and parts preferred.
  • Must be dedicated to customer service.
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations, make logical decisions, and choose best course of action.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
  • Must be available for shift work, overnights, over-time, holidays, and weekends.


Reporting Relationships


This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
