GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Office of State Lands and Investments, Wyoming State Forestry Division (WSFD), seeks a Warehouse Assistant Supervisor in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position orders, ships, and coordinates all billings associated with securing equipment and personal protective equipment needed for volunteer fire departments and Counties across Wyoming. This position organizes and bills for work done to Volunteer Fire Department Fire Trucks and other heavy equipment. The Warehouse Assistant Supervisor is responsible for implementing the General Services Administration (GSA) and Department of Defense (DoD) fire equipment purchasing programs that offer discounts for Counties and Volunteer Fire Departments. The position is also responsible for inventory management and assisting in annual United States Forest Service (USFS) audits to keep WSFD's excessive property programs in compliance with USFS guidelines.
This position plays an important role in filling county and volunteer requests for service and allows WSFD to be successful in the implementation of the Wyoming Forest Action Plan. The Warehouse Assistant Supervisor provides an integral piece of the overall shop service to counties and volunteer fire departments across the State.
This position is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheyenne is a full-service community home to over 60,000 residents. Cheyenne is near four-season outdoor recreation areas, including the Snowy Range, Medicine Bow National Forest, and home to world-class rock climbing at Vedauwoo. In addition, the location provides convenient access to the Colorado Front Range communities, including Fort Collins, Denver, and Denver International Airport. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
Maintains Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) and Firefighter Property Program (FFP) inventory in support of counties and firefighting, to include data entry and documentation to track, acquire, transfer and dispose of FEPP/FFP equipment and parts.
Maintains GSA (Firefighter Supplies) Inventory to include ordering, receiving, verifying, and sorting items.
Manages warehouse, including ordering, receiving, stocking, filing, shipping, and inventory control.
Maintains monthly county billing in support of the statutorily authorized 537 account to include invoicing, billing, and reconciling monthly statements.
Maintains warehouse database to ensure accurate and complete inventory and property records.
Assists the WSFD Fleet Program Coordinator with all aspects of WSFD Fleet Management.
Coordinates the Smokey Bear Program; appearances and parades. * Provides support on wildland fire incidents.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to candidates with experience operating heavy equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc).
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in fleet management.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in accounting and/or inventory control.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and purchasing system software.
Knowledge of product lines and merchandise pricing techniques.
Knowledge of bid, quote, and award procedures.
Knowledge of state and federal inventory guidelines.
Skills in effective oral and written communication.
Ability to operate powered equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, heavy equipment).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk II
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk II
