The

VP - Engineering

will lead Dorel Juvenile's engineering team in the development of cutting-edge juvenile safety products.



The VP - Engineering position is located in Columbus, IN.

Key responsibilities

Lead Dorel Juvenile's engineering team in the development of cutting-edge juvenile safety products; Formulate and implement engineering strategies that align with Dorel Juvenile's objectives while providing mentorship and technical guidance to multidisciplinary engineering team; Oversee full product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, quality assurance protocols, and customer experience requirements throughout design, testing, and production phases; Provide leadership on optimizing product designs for performance and product development practices and tools, including Finite Element simulation, GD&T, DVP&R, and FMEA; Develop and manage the engineering budget; Lead efforts to enhance in-house prototyping and testing capabilities. The position requires domestic and international travel up to 15% of the work schedule at various unanticipated locations based on business needs.

Your profile

At a minimum, a U.S. Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field 5 years' experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 5 years' experience managing engineering resources focused on new product design and existing product redesign in a safety focused, consumer products or automotive environment; 5 years' experience managing development of juvenile safety product engineering, development of juvenile product prototypes, and juvenile occupant ergonomics complying to FMVSS and CMVSS regulatory standards and safety certifications; 5 years' experience managing Engineering CAD and maturing designs while working directly with CAE/FEA practices focused on product development; 5 years' experience working with test procedures in internal and external crash (sled) labs focused on restraints and seating system development.
