Volunteer Experience Specialist

to join the Mission Delivery team.


The Volunteer Experience (VE) Specialist is the go-to for all things related to Volunteers at Girl Scouts of Eastern PA (GSEP). They are responsible for the recruitment, support, and management of the end-to-end life cycle of GSEP's volunteer experience and will be assigned to manage a specific geographic region.


This position works as part of the mission delivery team alongside Girl Experience and Community Engagement Specialists. The team will work to provide the Girl Scout experience aligned to key identifiers and needs.



Included in the end-to-end management and support for GSEP Volunteers is training; local committee supports (i.e., awards), onboarding, toolkits, and retention tactics. Additionally, the Volunteer Experience Specialist will have an intimate understanding of the Volunteer Toolkit and Volunteer Resources so that they can provide support to leaders who are working to follow GSEP policy for troop implementation, etc.




The Volunteer Experience Specialist understands their community and ensures that all aspects of their job are delivered through an equity-based lens and with a DEI-centered approach. Salesforce and SAP Litmos experience a plus.

Attention to detail; ability to anticipate next steps in order to provide full customer satisfaction Adept at conflict resolution and problem solving; takes initiative in solving problems Calm demeanor: ability to handle stressful calls and handle rejection from uninterested parties Ability to understand and enforce council policies Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality Customer-centric, values member relationships Excellent oral communication, active listen and interpersonal skills Exceptional leadership skills; must be able to manage a team of field-based staff as well as work successfully with council teams and volunteers Able to set short and long-term goals individually and working as a team Able to learn new processes and ways of work quickly and efficiently Ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously to complete projects as assigned Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve council goals Ability to ask for help when needed Exercises good judgment and demonstrates initiative in solving problems Ability to build, maintain and value good relationships with team, members, volunteers and community Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Strong computer user skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook and applications such as Salesforce Able to manage tasks and responsibilities with little day-to-day oversight Active listening skills and superior oral communication skills Sales or recruitment experience and ambition preferred Able to learn, understand, and apply new systems (and willingness to learn, train and trouble new systems with Council teams)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:



Computer skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with databases (Salesforce, Looker, etc.) Education: Bachelor's Degree or related professional experience Experience: 4+ years of related experience Experience in supervising staff and/or volunteers Cultural sensitivity Passion for GS Mission and serve as a council ambassador Commitment to GSEP Operational Core Values Valid driver's license, car, and proof of current insurance Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds, this position may require heavy lifting and physical activity in the form of packing and unpacking equipment

Other:



Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm with an hour lunch. This is a hybrid position, in-person Tuesday, Wednesday, and as needed. Weekends and evenings required for key events and operations. This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) Some travel required Maintain Membership as a registered Girl Scout
