Alamance Academy Day serves middle school boys in grades 5 through 8 who face emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. Our mission is to provide a nurturing therapeutic and academic environment where boys can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically through individualized instruction, emotional support, developmentally appropriate life skills activities, vocational exploration, and enrichment.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Vocational Life Skills Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. This individual will play a key role in helping students develop critical life and vocational skills in a supportive and therapeutic educational environment. The instructor will be responsible for instruction and facilitation of a technology based training program, coordinating and supervising student responsibilities, and organizing community-based learning and service activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in life and vocational skills tailored to students' developmental and emotional needs. Supervise and guide students in completing daily school-based job responsibilities. Develop and maintain structured routines that promote independence, responsibility, and self-advocacy. Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities related to vocational exploration, such as community outings, job site visits, or volunteer experiences. Monitor and document student progress toward life skills and vocational goals. Create a supportive and respectful learning environment that fosters positive relationships and emotional growth.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree with relevant experience in a related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Prior experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to model appropriate social and life skills behavior. Ability to use and learn new technology.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
