Job Description

New England Innovation Academy seeks a Visual Arts & Digital Storytelling Teacher for the spring semester of the 2025-26 academic year. The school welcomes full-time or part-time applications for this role. Full-time faculty teach four sections in Upper School, Middle School, or a mixture of both divisions with two or three different course preparations, participate in coaching two sports/activities or the equivalent, and serve as an advisor. Teachers also collaborate and innovate with colleagues across different curricular areas and divisions, and attend weekly staff meetings for subject areas and divisions. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $80,000 on a full-time basis.

The Visual Arts & Digital Storytelling Teacher supports and stimulates students' and teachers' passions and curiosities. The Visual Arts & Digital Storytelling Teacher will help students think creatively and critically about the world and how to express themselves through the basic principles of art, art history, and artistic behaviors. Mediums instructed may include paint, pencil, charcoal, pastel, block printing, fabric, nontraditional materials, photography, and digital 3D and 4D space. The Visual Arts & Digital Storytelling Teacher will work with colleagues to support the learning objectives of NEIA's academic programs, particularly Innovation Studio and Arts, by collaborating on the design and implementation of the curriculum and program. In addition to teaching visual arts classes, the Visual Arts & Digital Storytelling Teacher manages the StoryForge, NEIA's state-of-the-art multimedia storytelling space; teaches digital storytelling tools and techniques; and collaborates with faculty and students to integrate digital storytelling into various subjects, using media such as video production, podcasting, and digital art.

Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Strong creative and critical thinking skills. Ability to efficiently and effectively manage the time of self and others. Understanding and adhering to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. At least three years of teaching experience in a residential or day school setting is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities. The Visual Arts & Digital Storytelling Teacher does not supervise any other employees at NEIA.
