Literacy Coalition-South Central Arkansas (LCSCA) is a community-based, volunteer managed organization that serves the literacy community. We advocate the right to literacy, promote effective literacy programs, and recruit and train volunteers to provide direct tutoring to adults and families attempting to improve or gain knowledge for higher education attainment, technology, job skills, and English Language skills. LCSCA operates in four rural counties of south- and south-central Arkansas: Calhoun, Dallas, Ouachita, and Union. One in four adults in the coalition's service area lack a high school diploma. Our mission statement: To assist adults and families in becoming economically self-sufficient, employable, and able to move on to higher levels of education. The goal of Literacy Coalition's VISTA project is to move the needle on literacy forward and break the cycle of poverty. The VISTA Recruitment Coordinator will build vital capacity at Literacy Coalition by recruiting adults and children to the RISE and E3RPlus programs.

Member Duties :

VISTA Recruitment Coordinator will strengthen operational capacity by recruiting participating learners into the RISE and E3RPlus programming. Continuous learner and volunteer pairing in tutoring sessions move the literacy needle forward and individuals away from poverty towards education and economic opportunities.
