Position Summary & Responsibilities:



Position Summary:

Conduct inspections and other activities related to the Motor Vehicle Enforcement program in accordance with the law and KHP policies. Personnel associated with Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program shall work toward the goals established for the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program. Examine and confirm the identity of vehicles presented on court orders, possessory lien affidavit sales, salvage/rebuilt salvage titles, assembled vehicles, kit vehicles, homemade trailers, cab changes, and vehicles previously titled in a foreign state or country when applicant desires to obtain Kansas title/registration. Apply replacement Vehicle Identification Number s and KS assigned numbers. Inspections are conducted at Vehicle Identification Number Inspection Stations at various locations. Operation of an agency vehicle is required to drive to dealerships, salvage yards, and tow lots to perform inspections.

Completes Motor Vehicle Enforcement -1, Motor Vehicle Enforcement -3, correspondence and other related forms/reports in a timely manner. Checks incoming and outgoing reports for accuracy. Checks titles and other Vehicle Identification Number related documents for accuracy, authenticity, and evidence of alterations.

Qualifications:



Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Licensing & Certification:

Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and general public; communicate effectively with internal and external customers both orally and in writing. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to see details up close and at a distance

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

Must submit to and pass a thorough background check including fingerprints.

Ability to sit, walk, stand, stretch, twist, reach out with body, arms and legs; listen, comprehend, respond, speak clearly and concisely in writing, in person, and on the telephone; repeatedly bend, stoop, lift materials/equipment up to 30 lbs., move in confined areas, and perform repetitive motions with one or more extremity. Must have the ability to see details up close and at a distance.
