Job Summary:
Interviews clients to determine immediate and crisis intervention needs. Develops short and long range goals to promote and enhance their self-sufficiency and change behaviors that have become barriers to reaching that goal. Staff will do this by providing a case plan that meets that individual's needs. This position requires a high level of empathy and sensitivity to all incoming inquiries.
Job Duties:
Promotes client's self-sufficiency by counseling clients in modifying attitudes, patterns of behavior and assessing their strengths to become self-sufficient and maintaining a violence-free life. Develops an individual service plan which outlines short term and long range goals. Interviews applicants, makes determination on each client's eligibility for tribal and other social service programs. Maintain files records on families who come in for services that follow policy and procedures. Enter all client services and referrals into database. Provide public education about victimizations by participating in community outreach awareness and program services. Networking with area service providers and eliciting support for the Family Crisis Center through public speaking, working with local media, participation in community activities and fundraising. Provide notification of hearing dates and changes of hearing dates to victims. Attend and participate in agency and staff meetings on a regular basis as appropriate. Assess needs of children in the household. Mandatory rotation of the victim hotline is required. Continuous training is required. Travel is required for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
